YOGA IS INDIAS LEGACY TO THE WORLD -DY. CM D,Souza
Panaji: June 21, 2015: The Deputy Chief Minister Shri Francis D,Souza has said that Indias legacy to the world is Yoga. The world has recognised the importance of Yoga. The UN General Assembly has accepted and declared to observe June 21 as International Yoga Day.
Shri D’Souza was speaking after releasing a commemorative philatelic special Postal Cover on 1st International Yoga Day at a function organized by the Directorate of Public Health in collaboration with Department5 of Post Goa region in seminar hall Secretariat today
Shri D’Souza further speaking said that Yoga is a scientific exercise which help to synchronize body mind and soul. It helps to keep body fit. Yoga he said is nothing but preventive measure to avoid disease. Mental stress is rampant and to get rid of this tension or stress Yoga is a solution.
Shri D’Souzs also said that man has alienated himself from nature and has invited many health problems. People are getting more and more ill and it is due to change in his lifestyle. Man he said has to change his lifestyle to overcome his health problems Government is exploring the idea of International Yoga Center in Goa he informed and complimented Prime Minister for striving to acquire world recognition to Yoga.
Shri D’Souza further also informed that the Government will endeavour to release special commemorative postal cover on renowned Architect and son of the soil late Shri Charles Corea.
The Chief Secretary Shri R.K. Srivastav while speaking said that there is anarchy in the society. Everybody is in search of mental peace. It is we he said have to overcome this problem with help of Yoga. Yoga he said helps effectively in stress management and this how Yoga help to keep our body, mind, soul together synchronized and healthy. He appealed to work together for universal.
Shri P.N.Ranjitkumar, Postmaster General Goa region also speak on the occasion.
